The Art Of Palm Reading: What To Look For

Also know as chiromancy, palmistry (reading palm lines) is an ancient practice. For more than 3000 years, palm readers have been interpreting the lines, shapes and mounts of people’s hands to help them understand what the future might have in store for them.

As important as it is to know what to look for in a good palm reading, it is just as important to know what to look outfor. Let’s start there. If the individual conducting the reading insists he or she can predict how long you will live, when you will die, if and when you will marry (and how many times!) or how many children you will have, it’s probably a good idea to take the reading with a grain of salt.

Despite popular belief, the lines on the hand do not exactly predict those kinds of things. For example, the life line doesn’t reveal how long someone is going to live. What it can reveal is information about an individual’s physical health or if there is a health concern. This, in turn, can help predict how healthy someone is and the quality of life someone might have. Based on this information, someone could choose to make adjustments in their life, which might just make them live longer!

Now that we know what to avoid and we have some understanding of what reading palm lines can really tell us, let’s talk about what kinds of things to look for in a palm reading session.

Reading palms is much more than examining the lines on the hands. The palm reader should take the time to examine both hands to determine what kind of hand it is (earth, air, water, fire) and should be willing to examine the palms on both hands as each holds information about different parts of us.

Practiced palm readers know there’s more to the hand than the major lines (heart, head, life and sometimes fate). Reading palm lines includes reading the minor lines and mounts as well as looking at the shape of the fingernails and other things you probably never considered important.

Next time we’ll start examining each of these areas to begin to better understand what our hands can reveal to us.
